The riders chip time will activate once the cyclist has crossed the start/finish chip line located a few meters north of the “Starting Area”.

Each participant will have 3 hours to complete as many 21km loops as possible. The event will begin to close the course to those riders who have not crossed the chip line by 11:01 am. The parkway gates will be open to traffic as of 12:00.

Finishing Location

All cyclists need to cross the start/finish chip line in order to have their completed loop time recorded. For safety reasons, all finishing cyclists must depart the course by turning left into the Penguin parking lot. This parking lot is an immediate left turn after the start/finish chip line, see map. At the Penguin parking lot, the cyclist will need to proceed to the chip removal area to return their chip. Any chips not returned will be charged $200.00.

Cyclists in the Penguin parking lot can return to the PRC Welcome Area by following the signs to Kingsmere Road.

Cut-Off Times

The event will begin to close the course to those riders who have not crossed the chip line by 11:10 am.
The gates will be open to traffic as of 12:00.

Timing

All riders will receive a timing chip in their kit package that will measure the time to complete a full 21 km loop, as well as the rider’s time on the climbing portion of the event. At the end of the ride, all riders will have their timing results posted on Event’s Online website.

Please note improperly mounted timing chips could result in no time being recorded. Please review chip mounting instruction carefully when installing the chip on your bike.

A team’s finishing time is based on the average time of each rider on the team. If a team member is unable to complete the race with their team, the team time will NOT be received as an official team and will be disqualified.

On Course Support

Throughout the 21 km course there will be Event Marshals positioned to communicate assistance to the First Aid responders if a situation arises. The 21 km loop will have a water station located at a designated “water area” close to the PRC Welcome Area. There will also be a mechanic positioned on the course.
